Tod Curtis, owner of the Ye Olde Town Inn, is hoping Bears Super Bowl fever will generate into more donations during his Go-Bears Benefit for the United Relief Foundation.
On Sunday, for a $5 donation, Ye Olde Town Inn, 18 W. Busse Ave., Mount Prospect, will treat Bears Fans to an all you can eat Bears Belly Busting Buffet serving pan pizzas, Buffalo wings, pasta dishes, salads and other YOTI specialties. The buffet starts an hour before the 2 p.m. kickoff between the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints for the NFC championship, continuing through the entire game, and ending an hour after the final whistle.
With Ye Olde Town Inn’s WiFreeZone, free high-speed wireless Internet, people bringing in their laptops can create their individual private seating and still enjoy the food.
Domestic draft beer specials include $1.50 glasses, $4 pints and $7 pitchers, and soft drink specials, merchandise giveaways and raffles will also be offered.
Curtis is planning a February 4 Super Bowl game Belly Busting Buffet, even if the Chicago Bears do not advance, with proceeds again being donated to the United Relief Foundation. Money raised from the Go-Bears Benefit will be used for the United Relief Foundation’s A Child’s Sweet Smile program providing human contact and donated pastries and candies to troubled children as well as to children who are suffering from major health related issues in the Chicago area; and the Foundation’s Save Pass Christian effort in rebuilding the Mississippi’s Gulf coast city’s Fire Fighters and Police Officers homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
